Manpower Group Customer Service Supervisor in Minooka, Illinois


The role of the Supervisor, Customer Service will be to ensure operational processes are in place and are adhered to so as to insure customer as well as sub-contractor contractual compliance. Day to day responsibilities will be to assist the current Canadian operations team in collecting all pertinent documentation for billing, collecting of daily, weekly & monthly metrics, and to be involved with the inventory control portion of the business. This role will also assist our management team by acting towards continuous improvement of warehouse operations as they relate to the preparation of customer's outbound orders. This position is responsible for managing operations in a lean environment in connection with our customer's drive for world class manufacturing. Success will be measured by improvements in key performance measures and/or cost reduction to customer.


This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for reviewing our operational processes for improvement with direction from GM

  • Daily processing of transactions pertaining to receiving, warehousing and shipping of product.

  • Assist management team in acting as liaison between APL, customers/subcontractor to ensure the highest level of quality service is provided.

  • Apply the APL Logistics Continuous improvement model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and increase efficiency through waste elimination.

  • Communicate each day with management team, the customer and subcontractor.

  • Maintain confidentiality with the understanding that information will flow thru APL staff prior to communications with either the customer or subcontractor.

  • Continuous data analysis and identification of areas in need of process improvement

  • Ability to work flexible hours from 8:30a.m. - 6p.m.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working independently with a minimal amount of direct supervision

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Some college preferred

  • 2 years experience in warehouse/office environment in CSR or Inventory Control role.

  • At least one (1) year in similar position

  • Strong technical - MS Office plus familiarity with AS400 based applications

  • Knowledge of apparel business, preferred

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience in an office environment

  • Experience in training in Lean Manufacturing, preferred

  • Must be PC literate with strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook.
