Manpower Group Construction Project Manager in York, Pennsylvania

A Project Manager career opportunity is available with a large, family owned steel fabrication company in York, PA to guide projects through the 5 stages: Initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. This position provides responsibility and accountability to deliver the results of a project in the context of agreed-upon customer expectations, commitments and constraints.

Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate the overall process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for assigned project(s).

  • Create and establish schedules that include preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, and shop drawing creation, material procurement, and fabrication, shipping, erection, and closeout procedures.

  • Work with contractors, trades, inspectors, engineers, detailers, superintendents, and foreman to ensure the project is successfully progressing

  • Maintain positive client relationships and communicate effectively with all parties associated with the project

  • Read specifications and blue prints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.

  • Communicate and coordinate with other project contractors to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflicts.

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in steel construction; of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures

  • Ability to understand and apply varying levels of mathematics as applicable to the position

  • Issue corrective action notices to subcontractors, as required, to enforce company and/or project guidelines/policies.

  • Document and maintain correspondence to ensure an organized paper trail.

Qualifications:

  • Construction or Engineering degree with minimum of 3-5 years' experience in construction project management preferred, knowledge/experience of steel fabrication/installation would be beneficial

  • Good communication skills, organized, detail oriented, motivated and self-driven

  • Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license for daily & occasional overnight travel; ability to work occasional weekend hours

  • Possess tools to field measure, verify, and audit basic conformity standards.

  • Knowledge of applicable and proper use for the following: transit, laser lever, torpedo, torque guns, welders, gas supplied equipment, rigging and components

  • Microsoft Word and Excel +scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera)

  • Knowledge of Tekla and Fabtrol is not required but a plus
