The Associate, Map Research determines the appropriate flood hazard zone on properties nationwide and ensures that correct information is prepared for entry into proprietary database.

Job Duties

*Determine appropriate flood hazard zone for structures.

*Maintain accuracy and production standards and ensure the correct information is entered into the propriety database.

*Actively participate in building hit rate by answering segments questions, saving location points, and correcting database errors as appropriate.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

*High School Diploma or equivalent

*Typically has 1-2 years of general work experience.

*Read and interpret maps and other detailed documents, both computerized and hardcopy.

*Reasoning ability, good judgment, sound decision making and problem solving skills

*Understand and follow written and oral instructions, procedural manuals, and governmental information

*Accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail are essential

*Good analytical and spatial skills

*Strong organizational and communication skills

*Basic computer knowledge

*Must be able to, after training, locate flood zone designations using maps or by looking up data on propriety database
