Manpower Group VoIP System Network Engineer in Austin, Texas

Mitel is seeking a VoIP System Network Engineer to assist in the design and build of Mitel's core voice and data infrastructure. As VoIP Systems Network Engineer, you will help extend the capabilities of our current network to accommodate our future growth, qualify and implement new equipment from our vendors, and recommend solutions to issues that arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure TCP/IP and VoIP networks to integrate with Mitel Platforms

  • Fraud Detection Software configuration and methodology

  • Troubleshoot network and telco problems.

  • Configure and troubleshoot SBCs and Various routing platforms .

  • Perform and analyze packet captures of network traffic.

  • Perform interoperability testing with VoIP vendors.

  • Qualify and evaluate network and VoIP equipment.

  • Work with the business side to understand their objectives and account for them in the system design.

  • Work with the software and systems engineering teams to understand and implement technical requirements.

  • Configure DHCP, access-lists, and VLANs.

  • Configure and verify Firewall changes and provide rules testing

  • Configure OSPF and BGP protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years hands-on networking experience

  • Robust, large-scale network design experience

  • Expertise with Carrier and Enterprise router & switch administration

  • Expertise in Fraud mitigation techniques

  • Experience and understanding of Firewalls

  • Experience and understanding of various SBCs and their function

  • Detailed understanding of subnetting and network segmenting

  • Detailed knowledge of VoIP and SIP messaging (past or current SSCA preferred)

  • Desire to both design and implement superior network solutions

  • Hands-on network troubleshooting experience; packet capture and inspection

  • Strong knowledge of OSPF and BGP protocols required

  • Knowledge of IPsec tunnel configuration required

  • Telco circuit knowledge & troubleshooting skills

  • Understanding and hand-on of rating, routing, and billing for voice traffic

  • Unix administration experience a must

  • MPLS configuration experience a must

  • Strong communication and documentation skills are essential

  • Enthusiasm and ability to develop technical skills and take on additional responsibilities to add value to the team and Mitel's mission and goals

Education:

  • BS in Technical or Engineering field (or equivalent) required.

  • CCNA certification or equivalent experience
