Escort (walk) patient from waiting room to screening room and perform and document initial part of exam per physician's instructions in a timely manner.
Obtain Patient History
Verify and accurately document medications at each visit
Check visual acuity
Check eye pressure
Check blood Pressure
Record visits to other eye doctors since last visit.
Recognize signs and symptoms of eye diseases.
Review chart for labs or test results ordered at previous visit; obtain if not in database.
Escorts (walk) patient back to waiting room.
Instructs patients about visual field testing and perform test.
Transfer information from new patient forms received in the mail to database.
Check waiting room to ensure that all patients have checked in and are not kept waiting
an unreasonable length of time.
Monitors supplies in screening rooms regularly.
Maintain and cleans all equipment being used. Report to Practice Administrator if not in
Accept and perform miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required.
When daily primary duties are complete, the employee should check with
Administrators and Nurses to determine if there are any other tasks that need completed.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
File charts as time allows.
High school diploma or GED
Minimum Background requirements:
Previous experience or training in this position or similar position is beneficial, but not required.
