Manpower Group Apartment Maintenance Technician in Redwood City, California

Position Summary:

Pay Rate: $25.00 / hour

The maintenance technician works closely with the administrative staff, property managers, and tenants to ensure that all daily operational maintenance are taken care of to maintain the value and appearance of the property and equipment. The position is responsible for trouble shooting, repairing, and arranging all building operating systems at assigned properties.

Areas of Responsibilities:

1 Effectively, efficiently, and professionally multi task towards completion of all maintenance requests assigned and in compliance of tenant notice of entry restrictions.

2 Immediately respond to emergency situations

3 Complete the make ready process of vacant units per property manager direction

4 Maintain inventory levels for immediate service

5 Be responsible for issued equipment (phone, iPad)

6 Alert property managers to anything unusual seen on site, hazards or potential hazards.

7 Completion of time sheets timely

8 Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all tenants, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees

9 Exhibit the highest level of safety standards, compliant with all company, city, state, and federal guidelines

Abilities and Skills:

-Ability to perform aspects of Plumbing, Electrical, Paint/Drywall, Carpentry, lock, appliance, and hardware repair including the below:

-Plumbing:

-Must be able to install or repair the following; faucets, disposal, valve stems, overflow, angle stops, install toilet, toilet wax ring, install sinks, plumbing for sinks

-Electrical:

-Repair or replace switches, outlets, ceiling fan, bath fan, light fixtures, GFI, smoke alarms, CO2 Detectors

-Paint:

-General interior/exterior bathrooms/ doors, rollers, brushes, sprayer, power washer, use of ladders, repair drywall, install drywall, taping preparation, patching, smoothing, drywalling & floating

-Routine maintenance

-Repair or install Drawers, windows, screens, repair or trim doors, knobs, sliders, closet doors, hardware, HV/AC filters, dryer vents, baseboards

ATTENDANCE:

Position requires ability to work any of the 7 days of the week, 52 weeks of the year. It is critical that individuals possess the ability to work their scheduled hours plus any other hours necessary to complete the job and must attend training classes as scheduled. Work schedules and location assignments are subject to change. Ensure compliance with time management policies including meal and rest periods.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college and/or trade school preferred

  • One to two years industry experience or three years general contract maintenance experience

  • Available to be "on-call" when requested and promptly respond to work order requests during assigned periods.

  • Valid driver license, truck or van and automobile insurance

  • Ability to read and write English; speak English and understand spoken English
