Manpower Group Trade Compliance Coordinator in Thousand Oaks, California
Objective: Provide daily support and control for export controls and import activities, and maintain compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Customs, and other relevant trade compliance regulations. Primary focus is on export control-related documents, procedures, and tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
*Support the company's overall trade compliance operations, by understanding and executing export control processes and work instructions, especially those relating to ITAR, EAR, OFAC.
*Identify and report to the trade compliance management any potential violations of trade compliance laws and compliance violations and any incidents involving significant weaknesses in processes or procedures.
*Request advice and guidance from GTC Americas Regional Manager and/or Export Controls Specialist for trade compliance issues involving significant complexity and potential concern to the company.
*Assist with export documentation, process logs, development of training materials, scheduling of training to different groups within the company based on the existing training program, and when required, provide necessary supplemental training and updates for employees having trade compliance functions. Support HR in getting background information for ITAR access, completed training logs updated in personnel files and Workday, and similar tasks.
*Provide support to the Export Control Specialist on preparing export license applications, logging and progress updates, obtaining documents needed, and monitor the statuses of licenses, and other tasks related to supporting the Empowered Official responsibilities. Review and approve shipping invoices when needed. Interface with business requests in e-mails and meetings.
*Organize and maintain export license files and a database of current and expired license files
*Provide support to the Export Controls Specialist in processing the form "Request for Export of Technical Information" (Form AF190), by reviewing for compliance and provide approval to requestors to ensure legal export of technical data or controlled technology. Act as back-up for GTC Export Controls Specialist.
*Under direction of the GTC Americas Regional Manager and/or other trade compliance management, gather information and prepare periodic updates and metrics reports for export operations.
Education & Experience:
*Associates degree minimum, bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered a strong positive
*Familiarity with export and import operations and U.S. government regulations as set forth in the ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, Customs, and other relevant trade compliance regulations, with most focus on exports
*Minimum 2 Years of trade compliance experience
*Proficiency with MS Office applications
*Working knowledge of Oracle and JD Edwards or other ERP system desirable
*Excellent oral and written skills
*Because this position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR.
*Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings.
