Manpower Group Manufacturing Production Supervisor in Victoria, Texas

Are you an experienced manager with a passion for manufacturing? If so, we want to talk with you. Manpower is looking for an Assembly Section Manager with experience in the production and manufacturing of heavy equipment for a prominent manufacturing company in Victoria, TX.

What is the job?

  • Supervise and provide leadership to assigned manufacturing areas while adhering to the company's core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment and sustainability.

  • You will own the value stream map for your respective section and partner with support groups in the implementation of changes needed.

  • You will drive continuous improvement efforts as well as practice and teach BIQ, Lean Processing, Right Part Right Time and CPS principles.

Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Determine processing needs to ensure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements

  • Determine priorities and schedules the sequence of jobs

  • Determine overtime needs, determine priorities when resources are insufficient, and decides when disciplinary action is necessary

  • Adjust section staffing to meet flow and customer requirements

  • Produce product to meet quality standards while maintaining cost

  • Ensure necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency

  • Work to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value added activities

  • Ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule

  • Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, etc.

  • Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean production environment

  • Evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the workforce

  • Ensure training and effective utilization of work force

What you bring?

  • 4 years or more of manufacturing experience

  • 1-3 years leadership experience

  • 2 or 4 year degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Experience with the AQE system

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel computer applications

  • Good human relations, interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Ability to positively influence and motivate a team through a strong commitment to Our Values in Action

  • Experience with SAP

  • Schedule Flexibility to support 1st or 2nd shift including Saturday
