The Customer Service Supervisor will collaborate with customers and various Bostik team members to ensure customer requirements are met.

Job Dimensions

  • Supervises a team of Customer Service Representatives.

  • Collaborates with customers and various Bostik team members to ensure customer requirements are met, with a focus on value added service, cost reduction and efficient work practices within individual area of responsibility and throughout the Supply Chain.

  • Customer master data maintenance, order fulfilment, and customer support to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Job Activities

  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific EHS expectations.

  • Supervise Customer Service Representatives who supports the Industrial Adhesives and Non-woven business units in line with established policies for the Customer Service team.

  • Conduct performance reviews and provide development opportunities in support of Bench Strength Development.

  • Develop and implement process/procedures to improve operational efficiency, leveraging best practice and in alignment with Customer Service overall. Provide training to new/existing personnel in Customer Service processes.

  • Monitor work flow and assist with development of schedules, organizational structure and equipment needs to support team work; provide back-up support as needed to Customer Service Representatives.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, operations, sales, finance, and logistics personnel.

  • Process and fulfill customer orders.

  • Collaborate with Customer Systems Team to maintain customer master records and process invoice adjustments for assigned territory (credit/debit memo).

  • Enter and coordinate customer complaint resolution and return activity.

  • Apply problem solving skills to improve forecast accuracy, reduce inventory and related costs (i.e., sleeping inventory sales, SKU reduction, S&OP implementation, etc).

  • Search for, develop and implement cost saving measures to support growth in profit/revenue.

  • Initiate and maintain customer projects/programs (i.e., customer supplier portal, new product launch, EDI, VMI, consignment, etc.).

  • Support Bostik Management System requirements (focus on continuous process improvement).

  • Support customer visits (internal/external); some travel may be involved (1-2 trips/year).

  • May involve some degree of inside sales activities.

  • Complete Puresafety training in a timely manner. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Heavy use of computer software, both PC based and enterprise system, combined with frequent interpersonal communication. Includes the use of document imaging,, ERP, and Lotus Notes databases.


  • Provide excellent service to customers through timely, accurate and seamless end-to-end movement of information and goods to meet customer's true requirements.

  • Utilize analytical tools (Excel, Visio, SAP, etc.) to gather data, analyse and report customer satisfaction KPIs, and create service scorecards to continually measure and improve service to customers.

Job Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years working in customer service, inside sales, or production planning ideally within a manufacturing business that has a significant distribution component

  • Must have demonstrated effective supervisory capability in a service setting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (second language valued).

  • Proven competency in planning, time management, project management, analytics, problem solving, and goal setting.

  • Strong, effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Team orientation.

  • Self-motivated with a high-level work ethic; holds self-accountable and responsible.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MRP/ERP systems -- SAP experience is a big plus.
